Coach De'Mon Williams

Dear Parents and Students of Franklin Academy Charter School,

My name is Mr. Williams and I will be your son or daughter’s Physical Education Teacher this school year. I am looking forward to a successful year of student learning and building a foundation for living a healthy lifestyle.

Here is a little background information about me… I was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois not too far from the Jackie Joyner Kersee Center. I attended East St. Louis Senior High School. Throughout high school I was a three-sport athlete consisting of baseball, basketball, and football as well as a member of the Choir, Marching Band, and Math Club. My academic and athletic success led me to attend the Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.

After graduating from the Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville in 1998 with a BS in Kinesiology, I continued my education in graduate studies (Master’s in Education/Administration) at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.  My teaching experiences consist of teaching at various schools like: East St. Louis Sr. High School (East St. Louis, Ill.), Godfrey Elementary School (Godfrey, Ill.), and A.M. Jackson Math and Science Academy (East St. Louis, Ill.).

This is my Fourth year at Franklin Academy and I will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade physical education. Aside from teaching, I coach boys basketball, and girls flag football. I am in my 15th year coaching competitive basketball. Although I am a very busy person, one of my favorite things to do is be physically active: working out (PT), playing basketball and volleyball, going to the beach, and most importantly hanging out with family..

I am looking forward to a successful school year at Franklin Academy. Go Falcons!!

Sincerely,

Mr. Williams
